Fun run

On Wednesday all students at Wigram ran in the school fun run.

There was a course set up around the school and everyone ran in their house colours.

The Tuatara called Hudson comes to class!!

This term, we are learning about Endangered Species. To introduce this topic, we had a visit from the Conservation Trust to teach us a few things. The students were introduced to a real-life Tuatara called Hudson.

An interesting learning fact was that touching the Tuatara tail creates a chemical reaction that makes the tail fall off.

The Tuatara eats bugs and beetles. The conservation trust catches live bugs to feed him. The students enjoyed watching him catch the food with his tongue.

As a follow-up activity from our visit, we completed various activities, including a class quiz.
